no one gets out of here alive - danny sugarman & jerry hopkins

now if you know me, you know I love the doors. I like I said when I talked about LA woman in the music sec I know hes a bad person. how do I know this? this book right here. I got this book at a second hand store while visiting my mom, I read it on the plane ride home. before I get into that, I have a story for you! this one is a story my mom told me that took place back in 1980. my mom got this book for her brother who was a fan of the doors. my grandma, her mom, found it and read a few pages. she was of course appalled, not only at the contents of the pages but that her beautiful teenage children would read such a thing. she then burned it in the fireplace. if you read this book you might understand why. Jim Morrison despite being a sexy poet was a major creep and a simple asshole. he is akin to some men I know. you know the type, the guy who grows his hair long, takes psychedelics, harasses women and thinks he knows more about life than you do. when in reality all he knows is being a tweaker and being annoying. thats jim morrison. one thing in this book ill never forget is the bus scene, jim got on a public bus, sat next to a 9 year old girl and put his hand on her thigh. he thought it was hilarious that she got so uncomfortable. hello? I actually dont know, or hope I dont know any men who would find humor in that. who finds humor in that? a grown man touching a 9 year old girl on the bus. ew. that changed my view on him, I still enjoy his music. is that bad? I know there will be people who will call me a sick individual who deserves nothing for that. but thats just the world we live in. is that good? is it bad? does it push people away? make people settle for being bad people when jumped on like that? I dont know. ive gotten off track again. I think it was really interesting however learning about him and the rest of the band and the relationships between the members. learning about how they created some of their music was very interesting as well. im glad I read this book. also it got me into music biographies and for that I am grateful. fuck you jim morrison. have a good evening, please do.
