notting hill
notting hill is the perfect sappy rom com. I love it. I do. hugh grant as a british bookstore owner and julia roberts as a movie star who takes cover in his shop. hello? whoever came up with that was a genius. thats what the girls want to see. they obviously fall in love then obviously have issues as it goes, this time because she had a famous boyfriend. hes heartbroken. there’s this scene, its famous probably where hes walking to work everyday and the seasons change around him. he just keeps going doing the same mundane thing everyday. you know because hes heartbroken. I wonder if stephenie meyers got inspired by that for new moon where Bella sits in a chair and the months change around her. anyways I love it. they eventually reconcile after lots of back and forth missed opportunities and miscommunication as it goes. “im just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her” sound familiar? I know it’s corny but I dont care. I love corn. I do. I find comfort in the predictable. so as it’s a rom com everything works out perfectly in the end and they get married and have babies. what a concept. I do find hugh grant attractive, me and my friends argue about this all the time. I won’t mention willy Wonka we do not have to speak about that I dont know why he would agree to that, but in bridget jones diary, that boat scene. come on now. sexy. I now have to review that too. all I have to say about notting hill is that it’s a perfect movie for a cold day. perfect. perfect. the one thing the british do right is a cozy movie. no offense to the british people out there but its the truth. maybe that was too harsh but I do have a thing against the brits. they are just so self righteous in a way they say americans do. and we do. but so do you. at least we are aware, with straighter teeth. I got riled up. I apologize. watch notting hill, even though I spoiled it, you’ll have a good time. I promise. I love you.
